Blue Class Vocab Unit 7

Write 10 sentences using words from unit 7 correctly, giving context clues to the meaning of the words.

1.) Hosea condemned the stealthy children because they furtively attempted to sneak out of class during his lecture.

2.) I would not call Yang a misanthrope; I would simply call him a recluse who absconds from social contact.

3.) The raiments of the pontiff included lavishly flowing robes, stylized with archaic designs.

4.) Ephemeral romance between teenagers is on point and exciting in the beginning, but it can change in to tattered feelings and ruined friendships.

5.) A convivial cluster of socialites were invited to the gala, providing for quite the crowd.

6.) Deborah unleashed her bestial side as she aggressively called out Patricia, on her lies, calling her distasteful names while wildly flailing her arms in the air.

7.) With no restrooms on the family's trailer, they compromised by jettisoning their collective waste outside of the vehicle's window.

8.) By being pertinacious, one follows through until the absolute end, seeing where all paths lead and reaping the rewards or facing the consequences.

9.) The gathering was in awe as the little old woman approached the council with a list of biased demurs.

1. In my opinion, The Lord of the Flies delivers one of the most vivid portrayals of the bestial side of human nature.
2. Although she is quiet in school, Julia is more convivial than anyone else when she goes to parties.
3. Instead of belonging to any particular coterie, I merely float between different groups that divide my peers.
4. When the news came that finals would be mandatory this year, most students responded with demur and anger.
5. Usually there is nothing wrong with embellishing stories to improve quality, just make sure you do not outwardly lie.
6. The tremendous wealth of the once great athlete proved to be quite ephemeral considering his current chapter of bankruptcy.
7. The furtive house guest appeared extremely polite, but in reality he was exploring the lent home to form a plan of burglary in the near future.
8. Instead of making you look well-dressed, those garish labels on your clothing simply make you appear tasteless.
9. Your dream of skipping college and becoming a millionaire entrepreneur is not only illusory but nearly impossible in today’s world.

1. After the collapse of several large banks and a surge in unemployment, it became impossible to allay the public’s concerns about a Recession.
2. I was relieved when I found out that my counterpart on the lacrosse team knew many of our plays well.
3. In riots, many people lose their sense of humanity and they become bestial, acting without sense or reason.
4. It’s always more fun to have a conversation with a group of convivial people than with reclusive ones.
5. When taking a side in an argument, many people will loudly voice their demurs at whosoever and whatsoever they disagree with.
6. In theology class, the boy I sit next to voices his comments with shameless effrontery so often that he has been sent to the dean’s several times.
7. When telling a thrilling story it’s best not to embellish the details over the story too much lest they make it seem ridiculous.
8. While the lack of cold weather this year was felicitous for anyone who hates snow, it was quite unfortunate for us who wanted a single snow day.
9. While it’s certainly nice to carve some designs into woodwork, the garish designs carved all over my grandfather’s dining room chair make it overly showy and distasteful.

1. After such a said experience, only the warmth of my boyfriend's arms could allay my sadness.
2. With such fun and wonderful friends we always have nothing but a convivial time.
3. I find that all of the people in my classes are a very good coterie considering we do have classes together everyday with a lot of the same interests.
4. After getting dressed and doing my hair I always add a little to my appearance by embellishing my face with make-up,

2. Ever since my aunt moved away to Texas, my mom was left to hold the annual convivial Christmas party. 
3. Some of my coterie are friends that I've known since Kindergarten. 
4. The counterparts in my 400 meter heat seemed a lot more nervous before the race than I was. 
5. I could not believe that the freshman had the effrontery to talk about me when she has never even met me. 
6. I love scrapbooking because all I have to do is embellish my pictures with stickers and clippings.

3. When my friend entered the British exchange program I found that he and his British counterpart had many similar interests.
4. When Christine bought the apartment, she embellished it with furniture and artwork and transformed into a place that felt much more like home.
5. I think that my description of her as a perfectionist was a felicitous choice.
6. Timmy was a very furtive child who could always sneak around and get the food his parents said he was not allowed to have.

1. The teacher allayed our fear of the upcoming test by telling us it wasn’t going to impact our grade too much.

2) Around Mardi Gras there is always a convivial feeling in the air, especially in New Orleans.
3) My coterie of acquaintances at school includes people i know from the cheer team, student council, my variously phased classes, and blue gold.
4) My main problem with many prom dresses is that they over due it and over embellish; rather than look sophisticated and elegant they appear gaudy and over done.
5) The law permitting novices to drive under a parent's supervision for merely 4 months was certainty ephemeral.
6) The girl throwing furtive glancing your way is clearly jealous over the fact that you're here with the boy she has a crush on.
7) Some people enjoy Mardi Gras, while other consider it to garish and in poor taste.
8) There are many charities designed to aid the indigent peoples suffering from unspeakable poverty over in East Africa.
9) The people who establish these organizations are certainly not misanthropes and undoubtedly have a love and concern for humanity.
