Two Minute Warning

It's almost the end of the first quarter. Hopefully, you won't be running your version of a two-minute drill in order to score a touchdown before time expires (of course, you'll get the ball back when the second quarter begins, too).

Here is some important information:

Major unit test is October 25.

Journal due October 30--extra credit if received on October 27--for every day that it's late, you lose 10 points. Each of these assignments is worth 20% of your quarter grade.

If you don't mind me asking, what does the Touchdown signal have to do with the two minutes warning? Wouldn't it be more appropriate to put a game clock? You don't want us students prematurely thinking that we've "won the game", do you?

Just kidding, sir.

Great point. The touchdown signaling ref doesn't fit at all, except to emphasize the football metaphor. This "mistake" might constitute a "botched snap."

Fio, my sister told me you had this site and I could NOT believe it. Mr.John Fiorelli entering the computer era!!! I was so excited to read your blogs and see that you are still as excited about teaching and sharing your wisdom with students. You truly were one of the BEST teachers I have ever had. To this day I carry a pocket dictionary in my backpack to my classes here at ECU, in hopes that maybe one teacher will need a word looked up sometime. I'm so glad my sister gets to experience your class like I did. The Rigg legend lives on!

Lauren,

So nice for you to check in and thanks for the kind words. Tinntinnabulation. Egad! Here's a line for you:"They're a rotten crowd. You're worth the whole damn bunch put together."

The Rigg legacy does live on, but don't tell your sis I said so.

Hope all is well at ECU. Gotta be warmer than it is up here.

ahhh The Great Gatsby! I had to think for a minute on that one. I was like, I know where that's from! It is much warmer here in NC for the most part, but the weather is starting to cool off quickly. Hope to stay in touch!
