Seniors--More Dead Poets extra credit #2

Go to Studywiz and then open the file that says Dead Poets poetry. You'll find some poetry and prose that's read in whole or in part in the Dead Poets Society, along with a poem that I wrote for the Class of 2005.

In keeping with the teaching of Mr. Keating, I don't want you to rate these poems or analyze them. Please do NOT beat "them with a hose to find out what they really mean."

Instead, respond personally to any one of these poems.

200 words or 25 blog lines.

Due before class on Wednesday, May 19.

The poem I read was "The Road Not Taken." It has been my favorite poem since I first read it many years ago. I find myself in the position of having to chose from two paths that have different outcomes. Robert Frost does a great job talking about the two paths and the outcomes they will produce. Life is full of choices and we may choose the wrong one at first but in the end I believe everything will work out. In life its easier to choose the path that everyone may have taken, because it may be the easier path. Usually the more difficult path is the one with the better outcome because hard work usually pays off. Without life's choices there would not be happiness or sorrow. Choices we make build us and makes us all different. I personally hate making decisions because I am afraid of the outcome. I am not one for taking chances. I wish I was stronger and can make difficult decisions. but every wrong choice I have made over the last eighteen years have made me a stronger person. I learned from my mistakes. As Robert Frost was getting at is life is full of decisions, it is what you do with your choices that will make the difference.
